I can trace your family tree, research the origins of your surname and undertake house histories. I can also write up your family history and draft a family tree chart as well as presenting all the supporting information I have discovered in an easy to follow display binder. I also offer a problem solving service to try to overcome blockages in your own research.
Why should I use Janet’s Ancestry Research ?
I was a professional librarian managing a local and family history centre for many years, I am a fully qualified genealogist having obtained my Master of Science degree in Genealogy, Paleography and Heraldic Studies. I am a member of the Society of Genealogists and I am listed in the Register of Qualified Genealogists. I have been involved with researching both family and local history, for myself and for the general public for over 20 years. The knowledge and experience I have gained allows me to research both on-line and within local and national libraries and archives. This experience serves me well in assisting with researchers who have hit a “brick wall” and in providing complete family trees for those who wish me to do so from “scratch”. I will at the end of my research provide you with a family tree and supporting documentation in a presentation binder.
How much will it cost ?
The cost of your family research rests with you, the client, my pricing is based upon undertaking 5 hours research at £20 per hour and then consulting with the client on how they wish to proceed. This structure allows for a termination of my activities at the end of any 5 hour package by the client should they wish to do so. All extra costs e.g. purchase of certificates will be approved by the client prior to ordering. Your total client commitment at any one time is therefore £100 plus certificates or any other documents where necessary. Researching a family can be a big undertaking and this pricing policy gives my clients the freedom to spend as much or as little as they wish. If at any time I feel that I have reached the limit of viable research I will inform my client.
