Parish Registers are an invaluable source of information for the Genealogist; these can be rather difficult for the layperson to read and understand. A Parish Register contains information of christenings, marriages and burials pre 1837 which allows genealogists to delve further back than Civil Registration allows and can give insights into a family’s early history. Other useful documents are Wills, Rentals, and Deeds there are, of course many other documents which may need transcribing.
I have worked as a Professional librarian for over 20 years and have obtained extra qualifications in Local and Family History. I can help research your family tree and provide you with a detailed file of research and a printed family tree and also transcribe documents from your personal archives if required. I can deliver talks on how to trace your family tree and run Workshops and, if required, deliver training to library staff on how to assist members of the public with Ancestry and Findmypast websites. I can also produce house histories.
